Secondary official source (USDA FAS, 2026), not Ghana's own schedule; verify before committing. An older source, Ghana's 2023 report to WITS (UNCTAD TRAINS), gave 10%; the 2026 USDA table is newer and line-specific. The 2026 budget removed the 1% COVID-19 levy; ECOWAS levy 0.5% and AU levy 0.2% also apply. Confirm with Ghana customs before pricing a deal.

Where to get them: IEC and DGFT export authorisations: Directorate General of Foreign Trade; RCMC for scheduled agricultural products: Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA); phytosanitary inspection and certificate: Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India; Ghana plant import permit and plant quarantine controls: Plant Protection and Regulatory Services Directorate (PPRSD), Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana; Ghana food importer licence, food registration and eMDA permit: Food and Drugs Authority, Ghana; Ghana high-risk-goods registration, standards and conformity inspection: Ghana Standards Authority; certificate of origin: authorised chamber of commerce or other competent issuing authority in India
The main failure points are shipping plant products without the Ghana PPRSD import permit or Indian phytosanitary certificate, and importing prepackaged food without prior Ghana FDA licensing, product registration and eMDA approval. Labels and certificates frequently cause clearance holds when batch details, net weight, origin, dates, storage instructions or laboratory conformity evidence are missing.

What this page does not know
- Freight and port costs for your shipment. Carrier rates are not connected yet, so we do not print a freight number here. Put your own quotes into the landed cost calculator; it fills in this duty.
- Your buyer's price. The mandi price is what non-basmati rice costs inside India.
